Watching a VHS tape clear when playing but not when you freeze the frame?

When watching a VHS tape it is clear when playing but not that clear if you freeze it .Is that because the frames have to move and cannot be still?





Than VHS tapes and DVD are not that good!! What about HD can you freeze it or it has to just play like VHS?





I know 4 heads you get better picture and tracking.But I really do not know why you cannot freeze it or it has to just play.Watching a VHS tape clear when playing but not when you freeze the frame?
It's because Movies play at like 32average fps (Frames per second), so when you take a direct picture from that INSTANT, you're seeing 1/32 of what you normally see in a second.
