Nope, never tired that one, and since tape is sticky and you can't seal it air tight, I'm not sure it's a good idea at all.





If you have a dust or dirt problem, I'd suggest a zip loc bag to cover it with. They are flexable and not sticky at all.

Take a minute and think about that. Tape is not going to go on smoothly, and while it may not get dirt on it, its certainly gonna leave a bunch of sticky on the remote and probably gum up the buttons.
Find a program to watch before you start eating fried chicken or chili cheese fries with your hands.
