First point is that if you have used the microphone input on your laptop, it will probably be recording in mono - unless you are using a MAC, get a USB interface with a stereo input:

I have used 鈥楳agix Audio Cleaning Lab鈥?and 鈥楢udacity鈥?鈥?Audacity is particularly popular since it is free!
If you record to WAV format, expect file sizes of around 10MB per minute, or 1MB per minute for MP3 (at 128kbps).
Once you have your digital versions of the recording on your PC, simply burn them on to a CD (Nero burning software or similar..). If you use Magix Audio Cleaning, the software will burn an audio CD for you without needing additional software (assuming you have a CD writing drive of course!)
You will need the additional 'lame_enc.dll' file to export into MP3 - this can also be downloaded from the free software page.
You can also download a free PDF version of the step-by鈥搒tep guide from the download page mentioned above, the guide is complete with diagrams and screen-shots.

First tape I wanted to watch needed rewinding. Rewinder had finished and machine was making tense noise when I got back. Tried to play it, got fuzzy pic. and sound. Rewound part of it in case maybe tension was wrong. No good result.

Will a Fixit Ticket be cleared if I replace brake light bulb but the taillight assembly is taped over cracks?
Calif. I backed into a bush, cracked taillight assembly %26amp; made a hole in the plastic about the size of a silver dollar. $250 to replace assembly. Taped it instead w/ red %26amp; yellow taillight tape. Recent rain, brake light out, fixit ticket. Nearly all video lighting is existing lighting. I feel your pain. I find it hard to force my camera to let in less light when in an outdoor sunny shooting situation and the image is too blown out. The same sort of problem occurs when shooting indoors, and people with a light source behind them lose detail and are reduced to silhouettes.
The only trick I have found is cheating the camera by aiming it at the periphery of the image, letting the light increase or reduce, depressing the button so it is ready to shoot, and then pointing the camera to what I want to shoot. (If this sounds confusing, just think of it as similar to moving your camera until you find a hard edge to force an auto-focus to focus, and then pivoting the camera where you want to shoot.)I do video taping as a hobbie,what can i use to help my video taping come out clear and high quality?

Question on safest way to remove scotch tape residue from clear plastic windshield -?
Hoping someone has been thru this and knows best way to remove without scratching/damaging the clear plastic windshield - I recently bought a used motorcycle with a clear acrylic type plastic windshield - the seller had inadvertantly put the ';For Sale'; sign on the windshield with clear scotch tape - when he removed it, the residual ';glue'; came off and is stuck in 2 nice big yucky lines on the surface of the windshield (Murphy's law again...) - There are so many products, %26amp; methods and cleaners out there - some for Glass only, some say safe on plastic, but this sticky old glue is not the easiest thing to remove let me tell ya. It almost needs a solvent like rubbing alcohol, thinner or terps, but no way do I want to use anything that harsh on delicate clear plastic surface. HELP !! ANYONE !! You want a solvent that will dissolve the adhesive but not the plastic. I think alcohol would work well, at least it's worth a try. If you have any denatured or isopropyl alcohol, try that. Regular old rubbing alcohol is diluted isopropyl and that might work too. Alcohol won't dissolve the plastic itself.
If that didn't work, you might try WD40, which is oil dissolved in a solvent. It will leave oil behind, which you can then remove with the rubbing alcohol. 8^)
WD40 is worth a try. People have also used heat from a hair dryer to soften the glue. Also try Plexus. Some of these methods can work simultaneously, but remember that excess heat can be as bad as scratching, so use a HAIR dryer; if it's too hot for your skin it's too hot for plexi.
I'd use your finger. The oils from your skin should get it off. just keep rubbing it. and it won't leave a scratch, anthing else and you may be risking it.

Soak it really good with the windex, then take the edge of the plastic knife and the residue should slide right off

It sounds like they were improperly stored.
All you can do is fast forward them to the end and then rewind them. That will separate the tape so it will move smoother when you play it.
Never store VHS tapes in an attic or other hot place.

I'm trying to copy my vhs home videos to DVD...one of my tapes tracking is all messed up, and the home video is only clear when I fast forward the tape. I've tried manually fixing the tracking, that did not work. This tape is nearly 20 years old, but I have tapes that have worked near that age. Feed her canned and put the dry stuff away for the next few days. Don't add so much oil that you make her ill, or so much that she is turned off and then refuses eat her food. I always used to add a couple of drops of fish oil to my cats' canned food anyway. It helps with fur balls and makes their coats very shiny. Obviously, fish oil supports immune system function, is great for the heart and is overall incredibly healthy for them (as it is for us).

I wouldn`t worry too much if I were you. I`m sure the tape will pass right on through. Just keep an eye on the cat to make sure it seems normal.
My cat also has a fetish for tape! Once she ate some ';scotch tape'; so quick that I couldn't do anything about it...well...I did do SOMETHING...I panicked! This cat is VERY special to me..so I'm crying...trying to get the tape out of her mouth and dialing the vets' number all at the same time. Poor baby...I stuck my finger so far down her throat that she threw up the tape! After all of that I was told by her vet that as long as she swallowed it...she would pass it and it would not be a problem! Now I make sure there is NO tape out for her to get!

Kitty is probably going to be ok but you might want to mix in a quarter tsp. of oil (such as that in your own omega-3 fish oil capsules) to her canned food. Feed her canned and put the dry stuff away for the next few days. Don't add so much oil that you make her ill, or so much that she is turned off and then refuses eat her food. I always used to add a couple of drops of fish oil to my cats' canned food anyway. It helps with fur balls and makes their coats very shiny. Obviously, fish oil supports immune system function, is great for the heart and is overall incredibly healthy for them (as it is for us).
As long as he didn't eat the entire roll along with the dispenser, he should be fine. Watch him for a few days. Make sure he doesn't seem to be having trouble going to the bathroom. Make sure he is eating, drinking, and otherwise acting like his normal self.
How to clean off clear packing tape from stainless steal pot.?
I bought a small, like new, stainless steal pot from a thrift store. The seller taped the lid on with a clear tape that looked like packing tape to me. When I took the tape off it left a thick tape residue on the pot.
I have tired everything to get the residue off. Here is what I have tried:
All types of oil. cooking, dw-30,
Peanut butter
Goo Gone
Stainless Steal cleaner, that's oil based
Rubbing alcohol
Hot water
Liquid grease cutting soap
Soaked in hot, hot, water.
Used my finger nail to gently scape it.
I have run of ideas. Please Help.
Any suggestion that will not do damage to the metal on the pot.

If it doesn't work right away, moisten it and lay it on the spot to soak in for a while.
What you can do is buy this stuff called undu it is like goo gone but I think it works better than that i use it all the time and it never lets me down.

Ive just gotten interested in longboarding, and a freind told me that sector 9 was a good place to start. I want to be able to have a stable ride going down hills, (I dont want a death wobble or anything), and I want to be able to just cruise and carve, too. By last year I had a dozen spread across two hands. Warts run really deep within the skin and if irritated can actually cause more to form.

Your mileage may vary.

Can you get a sunburn through clear tape?
Probably not, but I certainly wouldn't recommend using tape. If you are under the sun for a prolonged period of time, the plastic and adhesive could melt into your body - making it painful and difficult to remove it afterward. Save yourself the trouble and a trip to the emergency room by not using this unusual method.

you can do this experiment:take a clear sheet of paper and cover parts or lines of it with transparent tape.take the paper outdoors and leave it in the sun for a few hours.you can notice discoloration only in the uncovered parts-they will have turned yellowish,wherever tape has been it will be as white as new-this of course does not mean sun rays will not pass through the tape you still would technically run the risk of skin cancer-just without the flaky skin.

Can you get a sunburn through clear tape?
Probably not, but I certainly wouldn't recommend using tape. If you are under the sun for a prolonged period of time, the plastic and adhesive could melt into your body - making it painful and difficult to remove it afterward. Save yourself the trouble and a trip to the emergency room by not using this unusual method.
I am one of those people who are fair skinned enough to where I burn badly. Use a 35 or higher SPF sunblock, or use an after-sun cream. Burt's Bees makes lotion that relieves sunburn, and it's sold in Supermarkets, department stores, and online.Can you get a sunburn through clear tape?

Depending on how mch u need to seal, u could get away from smaller btls from Michaels or JoAnn Etc or craft stores. The make them as small as 2oz btls on up.
But if u'r planing of painted %26amp; sealing lots of tape.. then try Walmart lst.

Find an exfoliating face wash that has sylic acid in it (1-2%). Start using it three times a week. If your face isn't irritated, work up to using it once each day. Follow it with an OIL FREE moisturizer. Even though you're oily, moisturizing is important to maintain healthy skin.
If you wear make-up, switch to a product that is oil free and doesn't clog pores (bare minerals works really well). That will keep make up from irritating your face further.
If you see your make-up fading off, or getting to oily, try using blotting strips. Clearasil makes a good kind that help absorb excess oil off of your skin with out reapplying make-up over the day.
And don't pick your zits or dry skin. It makes the zits go deeper into your pores, irritates the skin around it, and bacteria from your hands can get into the pores and make the infection worse.

I've been asked to shoot video at a concert (paid) and want to make sure the audio is clear. I've seen people with little fuzzy mics attached to the camera before. Any suggestions?What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
You have several options - AFTER getting permission from the band and the venue management...
1) Use a camcorder with manual audio control
The least expensive camcorders that have this are the Canon VV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7 and HC9.
2) Use a field recorder like the earlier poster said... Zoom, Edirol, M-Audio, Marantz and others are available. Good ones are not cheap. Then replace the video audio with the audio from the field recorder when you edit.
3) Get a board feed... But the only way you get good audio using this method is if EVERYTHING is mic'd or has a DI box and the audio engineer on the board knows what they are doing. They need to send the camcorder its own discreet mix - NOT what the house mains are getting... Especially if it is a small or medium venue - the singer and any other quiet sound sources will be mic'd but the guitar, bass and drums may not be - or only mic'd a little because they can be loud without going through the PA system. If you take the house mix, you will hear LOTS of vocals and very little guitar, bass, drums... it will sound like garbage. If you get a board feed, you will want an XLR adapter if your camcorder has a mic-in jack... if your camcorder has not 1/8'; mic-in jack, you cannot use this option. Do not depend on the audio person to take care of YOUR camcorder's cabling needs. Bring your own cables and adapters.What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
The sound guys normally wud record audio from the production mixer/sound processors/amps to cd usually on Tascam rack-mounted recorders. Most audio systems used for concerts have vocals %26amp; all musical instruments lined-in (controlled thru the audio mixer to ensure balanced audio)... not much hazzle for you, just the camcorder... a tri-cam set-up would be average, not to bore the video audience later w/ one angle and jarring shots as u change locations.
If you cud get hold of a copy, that wud be the best audio to import to video editing app. Sync the cd audio with that of the vcam's video file audio before muting the latter.

You have several options - AFTER getting permission from the band and the venue management...
1) Use a camcorder with manual audio control
The least expensive camcorders that have this are the Canon VV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7 and HC9.
2) Use a field recorder like the earlier poster said... Zoom, Edirol, M-Audio, Marantz and others are available. Good ones are not cheap. Then replace the video audio with the audio from the field recorder when you edit.
3) Get a board feed... But the only way you get good audio using this method is if EVERYTHING is mic'd or has a DI box and the audio engineer on the board knows what they are doing. They need to send the camcorder its own discreet mix - NOT what the house mains are getting... Especially if it is a small or medium venue - the singer and any other quiet sound sources will be mic'd but the guitar, bass and drums may not be - or only mic'd a little because they can be loud without going through the PA system. If you take the house mix, you will hear LOTS of vocals and very little guitar, bass, drums... it will sound like garbage. If you get a board feed, you will want an XLR adapter if your camcorder has a mic-in jack... if your camcorder has not 1/8'; mic-in jack, you cannot use this option. Do not depend on the audio person to take care of YOUR camcorder's cabling needs. Bring your own cables and adapters.What would I need to video tape at a concert, and have clear audio?
The sound guys normally wud record audio from the production mixer/sound processors/amps to cd usually on Tascam rack-mounted recorders. Most audio systems used for concerts have vocals %26amp; all musical instruments lined-in (controlled thru the audio mixer to ensure balanced audio)... not much hazzle for you, just the camcorder... a tri-cam set-up would be average, not to bore the video audience later w/ one angle and jarring shots as u change locations.
If you cud get hold of a copy, that wud be the best audio to import to video editing app. Sync the cd audio with that of the vcam's video file audio before muting the latter.

Can I clear coat over pinstriping Tape?
I am using Acrylic Enamel with Urethane Hardner (Black) for base coat. Stripes are 3M Scotchcal. Clear is Acrylic Enamel with Urethane hardner. Goo gone is good if you have it -windex isn't because it is alcohol based and won't dissolve the adhesive. Finger nail polish is OK-if you aren't afraid it will mess up the frame or finish. Or use a drop or two of oil (baby oil or cooking oil) -and rub the adhesive with your finger or a paper towel - The oil will dissolve the adhesive(I've even used PAM).
Once it is dissolved-then use the windex to clean away the oily spot.

all that razor will do is get sticky and gummed up too!
FIRST -- rub on either cooking oil, or peanut butter. Just keep rubbing and rubbing, kind of like massaging....
THEN try the razor blade, careful not to scratch the glass. Add oil and repeat. It will take awhile. And it is mucky and imperfect... but eventually it comes off!

Or use a drop or two of oil (baby oil or cooking oil) -and rub the adhesive with your finger or a paper towel - The oil will dissolve the adhesive(I've even used PAM).
Once it is dissolved-then use the windex to clean away the oily spot.

Watching a VHS tape clear when playing but not when you freeze the frame?
When watching a VHS tape it is clear when playing but not that clear if you freeze it .Is that because the frames have to move and cannot be still?
Than VHS tapes and DVD are not that good!! What about HD can you freeze it or it has to just play like VHS?

I am trying to find out how to make a cube ( i think 1inch by 1 inch) out of scotch tape, or any other clear tape. I saw this kid like a year ago and he had one but then i never saw him again. So if anybody knows how to make one please let me know.How to make a cube out of clear tape???

The obvious question was 'how the heck do you wind string into a cube shape?';. The obvious answer was 'you start with a cube in the middle', and it turned out to be a bouillon cube.
