Primarily in the UK- they don't have 'scotch' tape
Electrical tape.
I was going to suggest 3M but after looking at their website I see they own Scotch. So... I know DUCT tape makes clear packing tape, but it you are looking for tape for like wrapping a present, the only other brands I have ever had were GENERIC - they either had no name, or it had the store name - like Staples.
If I think of any others, I'll be sure to let you know.
3m is probably the best brand.
